PurePedal – Frequently Asked Questions
🚲 Electric Bikes
Are your electric bikes road legal in the UK?
Some models are designed to meet UK EAPC requirements (250W motor, pedal-assist only, 15.5mph limit).
However, certain higher-power models (for example 750W systems or throttle-equipped bikes) may exceed standard UK road regulations.
These models are intended for private land or off-road use.
It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure compliance with UK traffic laws before riding on public roads.
Please check individual product specifications carefully before purchase.
Do I need insurance, registration or a licence?
If a bike exceeds UK EAPC limits, it may require registration, insurance or a licence for road use.
Regulations may change, so we recommend checking official UK government guidance before riding on public highways.

Can I ride in the rain?
Our bikes are splash-resistant and suitable for light rain.
However, prolonged exposure to heavy rain or water submersion should be avoided.
Always dry the battery and electrical components after wet use.
What maintenance is required?
We recommend:
• Checking tyre pressure regularly
• Inspecting brakes
• Keeping the drivetrain clean
• Charging batteries correctly
Routine servicing helps extend lifespan and maintain safety.
🔋 Batteries & Power Products
Are your batteries authentic?
Yes. We source from authorised suppliers to ensure authenticity and quality control.
How long do lithium batteries last?
Battery lifespan depends on usage and charging habits.
Most lithium-ion cells last between 300–800 charge cycles under normal conditions.
Proper storage significantly extends lifespan.
How should I store lithium batteries safely?
• Store in a cool, dry environment
• Avoid full discharge for long periods
• Keep away from heat sources
• Use only compatible chargers
Improper storage may reduce lifespan or affect performance.
Do you provide a warranty on batteries?
Battery products include a limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
Damage caused by overcharging, misuse, modification or incorrect storage is not covered.
Please refer to the product page for specific warranty terms.
Can lithium batteries be returned?
Due to safety regulations, batteries must be unused and in original packaging to qualify for return within 14 days.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty.
